On Saturday Morning January 3, 2015 the Modena Fire Company was alerted around 0330 for a reported accident at Buck Run and Strasburg Roads in East Fallowfield Township. The initial call came into the Chester County dispatch from On-Star reporting a vehicle had front end impact with air bag deployment and On-Star could not make operator contact.
About two minutes after initial dispatch the call was upgraded to an accident involving fire adding Westwood for an assist after East Fallowfield Police located the car in front of 2460 Strasburg Road.
Engine 37-3, Ambulance 37-1, and Traffic 33 all made the response later followed by Engine 37-1. Deputy Chief Perine arrived on scene reporting one operator out of vehicle and a fire in the engine compartment.
Engine 37-3 and Engine 44-5 arrived and crews worked together to extinguish the car with hand lines. EMS attended to the operator later taken to local hospital.
The fire was placed under control a short time later. PECO notification was made for a split telephone pole involved in the accident.
All Fire Units cleared the scene around 0600 and township barricades were put in place closing Strasburg road until PECO could get crews out to replace pole. |
