On Thursday evening September 10, 2013 the Modena Fire Company invited the South Coatesville Borough Council to the fire house for a dinner meeting.
The evening started around 630 with a nice dinner prepared for the council and company board members by Gabbie Wallace, Donna Wallace, and Liz Corle. Salad, Ham, Roast beef, Lasagna, and deserts were on menu for the night. The company board members found out it was Mayor Kennedy's Birthday so after dinner they surprised him with a birthday cake, everyone joined in and sang Happy Birthday to the Mayor as he received his cake.
Following dinner Chief Dowlin took the opportunity to educate the council on what the company been doing over the past few years, where we stood now as a company both from the operations side and finically, and discussed our future as a company and what they could do to better that future.
Following the Chief's presentation everyone got a chance to walk around the fire house and see the things the chief talked about and got the opportunity to talk with other officers.
The evening concluded around 9pm overall the council was very thankful for dinner and more impressed by the appearance of the station, most of them have never stepped foot into the fire house and didn't realize all that we have.
We would like to thank the council for their time this evening, we hope to make this dinner a annual event moving forward and look forward to providing another 90+ years of service to the South Coatesville Community. |
