By Board Member Frank Dowlin
October 23, 2024

October 23, 2024 The Modena Fire Company and our colleagues from Westwood traveled to 600 Doe Run Road for a ground breaking ceremony on a new state of the art elementary school.

On the grounds of what was the South Brandywine Middle School, school officials, political supports, residents, and children gathered to celebrate what was years in the making the start of a new state of the art elementary school to replace the centuries old East Fallowfield Elementary down the road.

Along with East Fallowfield Elementary the Caln Elementary School will also be closed after the 2025/2026 school year. Students from both schools will start the 2026/2027 school year at this new state of the art school which will be known as Doe Run Elementary.

After a few speakers the shovels came out and school administrators, dignitaries, and even students moved the first dirt.

The new school will be in the Westwood section of East Fallowfield but as always both companies support everything in the township.

The Modena Fire Company would like to congratulate the school district, and we can’t wait for our children, and grandchildren to make memories, and life long friends in the new school.

Units: Ambulance 37-1, Squad 37

Mutual Aid: Engine 44-5
